Matt Judon has a proposal for new fan Donovan Mitchell

Word of Matt Judon's scorching start with the New England Patriots has reached at least one NBA star.

The Patriots' newly-acquired edge rusher caught the attention of Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell last weekend with his strong performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on NBC's "Sunday Night Football." Apparently Judon's gameday attire stood out to Mitchell, as well.

Judon made Mitchell aware of his name after the game, earning a new fan in young the Jazz All-Star.

Fast forward to Sunday's game against the Houston Texans, when Judon -- sporting his bright red sleeves -- wreaked more havoc with a pair of sacks in New England's 25-22 victory. Mitchell apparently didn't watch the game live, but he learned of Judon's exploits pretty quickly.

Since Mitchell appears enamored with Judon's red sleeves, the Patriots linebacker decided to propose a jersey swap -- sleeves included, of course.

Mitchell hasn't responded yet, but if you see Judon show up at Gillette Stadium in a No. 45 Jazz jersey at some point this season, you'll know the origin story.

Judon's early performance certainly is worth of recognition: His 6.5 sacks to date are the most by a Patriots player through five weeks of the season since 1982.

UPDATE (Monday, Oct. 11, 9 a.m. ET): It sounds like this jersey swap actually might happen...
