New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton has nicknames for many of his teammates, and he even has one for head coach Bill Belichick, too.
Newton's nicknames have become a fun off-the-field part of this Patriots season. Some of his best nicknames include "Highway 11 (Julian Edelman), "Dirty Dave" (David Andrews), "Smokin' Joe" (Joe Thuney) and "Mickey Ds" (Josh McDaniels).
The veteran quarterback revealed his nickname for Belichick during Monday's appearance on WEEI's "The Greg Hill Show."
It's "Dolla', Dolla' Bill, y'all"
"Honestly, I have so much -- and I'm not saying I don't have respect for anybody else -- you just got to understand your role, too. I'm not about to sit up here and be walking down the hall and see coach Belichick and be like, 'Dolla', Dolla' Bill, y'all what's good my guy?' It's not like that," Newton said with a laugh.
Newton has brought plenty of energy, competitiveness and good-natured fun to the Patriots in his first season with the team. The on-field product has been impressive, too, as the Patriots improved to 2-1 on Sunday with a 36-20 win over the previously undefeated Las Vegas Raiders.
