Halloween has arrived, which means it's time to eat our favorite candy and watch scary movies.
There are so many different types and flavors of candy, but some tend to be more popular than others. For example, according to a 2019 Monmouth University poll, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are the favorite candy for 36 percent of Americans. The next most popular candies were Snickers at 18 percent and M&Ms at 11 percent.
New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton revealed his favorite Halloween candy earlier this week, and he didn't name any of the three major brands listed above.
"Unfortunately, a lot of the candies aren't vegan because of the gelatin, but I'm a big marshmallow guy, and they make homemade marshmallow here, which is tremendous," Newton said. "But I'm an old school circus peanut type of candy eater. I eat skittles -- sour patch are vegan, surprisingly, the strawberry or the watermelon.
"Candy as a whole, in my household, with all these kids, man, they'll be set to go all the way through December."
Newton and the Patriots return to game action Sunday afternoon against the rival Bills in Buffalo. It's a pivotal matchup for the Patriots, who enter Week 8 with a 2-4 record and a three-game losing streak.
