WATCH: Mac Jones throws block on end around for Patriots first down

When the New England Patriots drafted Mac Jones 15th overall in April's draft, it was for the quarterback's ability as a passer.

Jones showed in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Jets he's capable of far more than simply making correct reads in the pocket, however.

On second and 15 from the New York 30-yard line, Jones handed off to James White, who flipped the ball to wide receiver Kendrick Bourne coming around the left end. No way Jones would factor in to the rest of the play, right?

Without the effort of Jones as a blocker on the play, Bourne wouldn't have been able to squeak out the extra yardage needed for a first down and ultimately lead to more points for the Patriots, a 32-yard field goal for Nick Folk which established a new franchise record for consecutive field goals made.
