Patriots QB Tom Brady “feeling really good” amid injury speculation

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady hasn't looked quite himself over the last two games.

He struggled in a Week 15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and was bailed out by the Patriots rushing attack in a Week 16 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Brady was asked during his weekly Westwood One interview with Jim Gray how his knee is feeling. The Patriots quarterback didn't deny he was battling some sort of injury or issue, but he reassured fans he's feeling well.

"I'm feeling really good, Jim," Brady said Monday night. "It's been 15 weeks of football. There's always bumps and bruises you deal with. But I'm feeling great for this time of the year. I'll take it every year to be feeling as good as I am at this time of the season."

The 41-year-old quarterback was taken out in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game with the Patriots protecting a double-digit lead on Buffalo. Neither Brady nor Patriots head coach Bill Belichick provided much of an explanation after the game. Brady told Gray "it didn't bother me one way or another."

It's quite possible Brady just didn't play well in the last two games, and that his struggles are not injury related.

Unfortunately for the Patriots, however, they don't have the luxury of resting Brady in Week 17. New England hosts the rival New York Jets at Gillette Stadium in the regular-season finale, and it needs a win to secure a first-round bye in the AFC playoffs.
