Patriots sign DE Nick Thurman and DB D'Angelo Ross to 90-man roster, waive Ryker Mathews

The New England Patriots have added two more players to their 90-man roster, while waiving another.

According to the NFL's transaction wire, the Patriots signed defensive lineman Nick Thurman and cornerback D'Angelo Ross. They also waived offensive tackle Ryker Mathews.

Thurman went undrafted in 2018 and was signed by the Houston Texans before being released after the preseason. He did not play a game in the 2018 NFL season. Thurman tallied 32 total tackles (4.5 for loss) with two sacks and one pass defensed in 11 games as a defensive end/defensive tackle for the University of Houston Cougars during the 2017 campaign. He played four years with the Cougars, totaling 4.5 sacks in 34 career games. Thurman is listed at 6-foot-4 and 293 pounds.

Ross, who was signed an undrafted free agent, tallied 57 tackles with one interception and six passes defensed in 12 games for New Mexico last season. He played two seasons for the Lobos. Ross is listed at 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds.

The Patriots also announced 10 undrafted free agent signings, including Ross. All but Ross were previously reported. Fourth-year linebacker Shilique Calhoun was signed as well.
