New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady took another NFL record from former rival Peyton Manning on Sunday.

Brady threw the 580th touchdown pass of his career in the second quarter of Sunday's Week 14 road game against the Miami Dolphins. It pulled him ahead of Manning on the career touchdown pass leaderboard, regular season and playoff action combined.

The Patriots quarterback now has 509 career regular-season touchdown passes, one more than Brett Favre for third place. He trails only Manning (539) and Drew Brees (518). Brady has a wide lead on the playoff touchdown pass leaderboard with 71, which is 26 more than Joe Montana in second place.

Brady has thrown 20 or more touchdown passes in 16 consecutive regular seasons during which he has played more than one game. He is the model of consistency, and unless he retires after this season, he's likely to break Manning's regular-season record at some point in 2019, if Brees doesn't get there first.

Earlier this season, Brady broke Manning's record for career passing yards (regular season and postseason combined).
