Patriots vs. Dolphins Week 17 injury report: Julian Edelman still limited in practice

Share

The New England Patriots will host the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium for Sunday's Week 17 regular season finale, and the defending Super Bowl champions have several players on defense nursing injuries.

Linebacker Shilique Calhoun (illness) was the only Patriots player who didn't practice Thursday. Four of his defensive teammates, including linebacker Ja'Whaun Bentley, linebacker Jamie Collins, cornerback Jonathan Jones and cornerback Jason McCourty, were limited participants in practice. Jones did not play in the Patriots' Week 16 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Veteran wide receiver Julian Edelman remains on the injury report with knee/shoulder ailments. The Patriots would be wise to rest Edelman on Sunday as soon as the outcome is no longer in question. Edelman has not missed a game this season, even though he's been on the injury report just about every week.

The Dolphins have many players listed on their latest injury report, but only cornerback Jomal Wiltz missed Thursday's practice. Ryan Fitzpatrick will start at quarterback despite being listed with a right shoulder injury.

Here are the Thursday injury reports for both teams.
