Between free agency and the draft, NFL teams have two big opportunities to retool their rosters over the offseason.

For AFC teams, that basically gives them two chances to do whatever they can to close the gap between them and New England, which have dominated the conference for the greater part of the past two decades.

Here's the problem for all those would-be contenders, though. At 41, Tom Brady shows no signs of slowing down. And even though they didn't add a tight end to replace Rob Gronkowski, the Patriots got high marks across the board for the 10 players they added through the draft.

But how have the draft, trades, and signings affected the balance of power in the AFC? Tom E. Curran surveyed the scene and breaks down how the Patriots stack up against their 15 challengers.
