With the 23rd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select. . .
Well, they could go in a variety of directions once they're officially on the clock Thursday night. Will they look to load up on weapons for their offense? Could they draft Tom Brady's potential successor? Or will they focus on adding talent to the defensive side of the ball?
All of those options are on the table, and NBC Sports Boston's own Phil Perry has covered pretty much every scenario in his extensive pre-draft coverage. Though with only one day until the draft, it's time for one final mock.

Wednesday on NBC Sports' On The Clock: NFL Mock Draft Special, Perry and Tom E. Curran have the Patriots bolstering their secondary with pick No. 23 (video above).
"A familiar name out of a familiar program, it's Alabama's Xavier McKinney," Perry said. "This guy was a do-it-all defensive back for Nick Saban. Linebacker level, safety level, you want to play him in the slot you can play him there as well. He looks like a swiss-army knife type for Bill Belichick."
Perry also selected McKinney at No. 23 in his Mock Draft 1.0, and the Alabama product earned the top spot in our safety rankings. In 2019, McKinney tallied 59 solo tackles to go along with four forced fumbles, three interceptions, and five passes defended.
The 2020 NFL Draft is set to kick off Thursday night at 8 p.m. Here's how to tune in.
