You didn't think Adam Vinatieri would go out on a missing an extra point and a chip-shot field goal in a playoff game, did you?

The NFL's oldest player at 46, and its all-time leading scorer (2,598 points), will return for a 24th season after finalizing a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It'll be the 14th season with the Colts for Vinatieri, who spent his first 10 seasons making memorable kicks for the Patriots.

Last season, Vinatieri was 23-for-27 on field goals, with his longest 54 yards, and 44-for-47 on extra points. He missed a PAT and had the shortest field-goal miss of his career (23 yards on a snowy field) in the Colts' 31-13 Wild Card loss to the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this month.
