Report: Broncos to trade Aqib Talib to Rams

Aqib Talib will not be re-joining the New England Patriots this offseason.

The Denver Broncos have finalized a deal to trade the cornerback to the Los Angeles Rams, according to NFL Media. Denver will receive a fifth-round pick in exchange for Talib.

The Patriots had been in the mix, according to 9News.

Talib is a five-time Pro Bowler and a one-time Super Bowl champion. He has played for three teams during his 11-year NFL career.

In 135 games during his career, he has recorded 117 pass deflections, 34 interceptions, 10 touchdowns and four forced fumbles.

Devin McCourty on Robert Kraft situation: 'Let it play out'

Devin McCourty on Robert Kraft situation: 'Let it play out'

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Devin McCourty, who’s in Puerto Rico on a goodwill trip, is the first Patriot player to publicly react to news that owner Robert Kraft is being charged with soliciting prostitution

“When you see things come out like that you really have to just let it play out,” McCourty said Friday afternoon soon after news broke that Kraft will be charged in Jupiter, Florida with a secondary misdemeanor. “See what it is, what it isn’t, and go from there.”

McCourty, who’s been with the Patriots since 2010, says he has a strong relationship with the owner.

“For me, RKK has been a great person to lean on as far as social justice stuff, a guy to lean on, a guy to talk to, always present in the locker room, always there to talk to guys,” said McCourty, who is joined by his twin brother Jason on the Puerto Rico trip. “I’ve had the opportunity to build that kind of relationship with him. With what’s transpired you really just have to let it play out and see what happens.”

There’s a lot left to unfold but even if Kraft is cleared, pressure on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell from some of Kraft’s fellow owners to somehow give Kraft and/or the Patriots their comeuppance is omnipresent.  And there are already rumblings that pressure is being exerted on Goodell to “do something.”
