Report: Ex-Patriots punter Ryan Allen finds new job with Falcons

Ryan Allen reportedly is employed once again.

The Atlanta Falcons are signing the former New England Patriots punter in free agency, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday.

Allen won three Super Bowl titles (including one against the Falcons) over six seasons with the Patriots but lost New England's punter job to rookie Jake Bailey this past summer.

The Patriots released Allen on Aug. 19, and the 29-year-old had been unemployed until Monday, when he reportedly latched on with the 1-7 Falcons.

Allen will take over punting duties from Kasey Redfern, whom Atlanta waived last week. The Falcons are undergoing a special teams overhaul after releasing kicker Matt Bryant, and Allen will join another ex-Patriot in Younghoe Koo, who signed with the team as Bryant's replacement.
