Schuplinski was reportedly going to leave with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to join McDaniels' staff with the Indianapolis Colts before McDaniels reversed himself on taking the Indy head coaching job.
A college teammate of McDaniels, whose official title is offensive coordinator/QB coach, and Patriots personnel director Nick Caserio at John Carroll College in Ohio, Schuplinski will be in his third season in his current position in 2018. He joined Bill Belichick's staff as a coaching assistant 2013.
