Saints tight end Benjamin Watson rips Roger Goodell

Saints tight end Benjamin Watson wants answers for the blown pass interference call that cost New Orleans a trip to the Super Bowl.

The former Patriot wrote a message to Roger Goodell on Twitter, pleading for the commissioner to end his silence on the matter.

“Commissioner Goodell,” Watson wrote on Twitter. “We all realize that football is an imperfect game, played, coached and officiated by imperfect people. What occurred last Sunday in New Orleans though was outside of that expected and accepted norm. Your continued silence on this matter is unbecoming of the position you hold, detrimental to the integrity of the game and disrespectful and dismissive to football fans everywhere. From the locker room to Park Ave., accountability is what makes our league great. Lead by example. We are waiting.”

The Saints' crushing NFC Conference Championship loss is especially tough for Watson, who announced he would be retiring at the end of the season. Watson's complaint is a valid one, as Goodell's silence on the situation has been deafening.
