This stat shows Patriots QB Tom Brady is shredding blitzes this season

Blitz Tom Brady at your own peril.

The New England Patriots quarterback is among the best in the NFL at getting the ball out quickly to avoid oncoming blitzes, and that abiltity has been on full display through the first two games of the 2019 season.

Brady has a near-perfect QB rating against the blitz so far, and it leads all quarterbacks entering Week 3. Here's a look at the top 10:

The 42-year-old quarterback has thrown for 605 yards with five touchdown passes and zero interceptions over two weeks. He's also completing 68.8 percent of his passes as the Patriots have cruised to wins over the Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins by a combined score of 76-3.

Brady's offense is absolutely loaded with quality wide receivers, most notably Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Phillip Dorsett and now Antonio Brown. Blitzing the best quarterback of all-time and leaving these wideouts in one-on-one coverage is quite a risk for opposing defenses.

The best approach for defenses might be to not bring extra pressure and just rush Brady with four players, given the injuries on New England's offensive line. The Patriots are not at full strength along their o-line, with their starting center out for the season and both starting tackles battling injuries. Brady was sacked twice and hit on a few other occasions behind a banged up offensive line Sunday against the Dolphins.
