It's no secret the WWE is a potential destination for Rob Gronkowski following his retirement from professional football.
The future Hall-of-Famer already has experience in the ring and seems to be tailor-made for a role in the WWE universe. Stephanie McMahon, chief brand officer of the WWE, told TMZ Sports that they would welcome Gronk (as well as UFC star Conor McGregor) with open arms.
"Anybody who has a real big personality, McMahon said. "I'd love to have Gronk in the ring. Conor McGregor, huge personality."
McMahon also noted that acquiring talent for the WWE is "about bringing in the biggest personalities with the best athletic ability." If that doesn't describe Gronkowski, what does?
As for whether there have been conversations between the WWE and Gronk, McMahon told TMZ, "We are always having conversations."
At this point, it would be more of a surprise to not see Gronkowski back in the ring sometime in the near future. Mojo Rawley, a WWE star and friend of Gronk's, said he expects the 29-year-old to join the WWE in some capacity. Plus, the three-time Super Bowl champion made an appearance at a WWE charity event last month.
