These stats show J.C. Jackson's impressive value to Patriots' secondary

The New England Patriots' secondary is full of talented veteran players, but one undrafted rookie burst into the group and provided much-needed depth and impressive on-field production during the 2018 season.

J.C. Jackson was signed by the Patriots in May of last year after going undrafted despite a good career at the University of Maryland. He quickly became a valuable part of New England's secondary as a cornerback, as evidenced by the stats in the Pro Football Focus tweet below.

Jackson tallied 24 tackles, three interceptions and six passes defensed in 13 regular-season games as a rookie. He also played a meaningful role in the playoffs, including 29 snaps in the Patriots' Super Bowl LIII win over the Los Angeles Rams.

While Patriots fans were upset over Super Bowl XLIX hero Malcolm Butler leaving to join the Tennessee Titans in free agency after the 2017 campaign, Belichick didn't take long to find another talented cornerback for a fraction of the salary.

If Jackson continues to improve in his sophomore year, the Patriots could have one of the top secondaries in the league led by All-Pro Stephon Gilmore and veterans Patrick Chung, Duron Harmon, Jason McCourty and Devin McCourty.
