Will Tom Brady stay with the New England Patriots after the 2019 season? Or will he retire or *gasp* sign with another NFL team?
ESPN's Adam Schefter added fuel to the "Brady's leaving" fire earlier this week. But the 42-year-old would prefer that fire be put out.
"My contract situation hasn't changed in many months, so I don't know why it gets brought up now," Brady told reporters Friday at Gillette Stadium when asked how he handles the ongoing conversation about his future with the Patriots. "I don't know. I think it's just hype, the media.
"Everyone's trying to make money, and that's what it's about."
Brady agreed to a two-year, $70 million contract with the Patriots in August that in practice is more of a one-year bridge deal. He technically can become a free agent following the 2019 season -- assuming he wants to keep playing, which he recently admitted is no guarantee.
Brady is done talking contract details, though.
"I don't get into it," he said. "Again, my situation hasn't changed. I'm just focused on what I'm always focused on, which is this week, trying to be a great quarterback for this team. As I said the other day, things happen at the right times, but this isn't the right time."

Sounds like Brady is getting tired of all this speculation, no?
"I'm a 42-year-old man, man! I get tired!" Brady joked when posed that question.
"No, it's just part of -- I don't know. Part of it's just being Tom Brady, I guess."
He's right about that part: As long as Tom Brady is quarterback of the Patriots, the speculation about his future isn't going anywhere.
