With Tom Brady gone, these are the Boston's longest-tenured athletes
Tom Brady's tenure as a New England Patriot has come to an end, as he'll reportedly sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency.
Brady's departure marks the end to a remarkable 20 years as a Boston sports icon, which made the 42-year-old have the longest continuous tenure of any Boston athlete by a long shot.
Now, with Brady gone, Boston Bruins veteran Patrice Bergeron takes over as the longest-tenured athlete in the city. The 34-year-old made his first appearance with the B's on Oct. 8, 2003.
Following Bergeron as players with the longest continuous tenures in Boston are Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia (13 years, 7 months), Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski (13 years, 8 months), Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara (13 years, 9 months), and Bruins center David Krejci (12 years, 2 months).
