As Tom Brady gets older, he seems to be getting more adventurous. And with that, he may take some more risks that make New England Patriots fans nervous.
Those risks could end up including rock climbing.
Brady recently chatted with "Free Solo" director Jimmy Chin on Instagram. "Free Solo" was an Oscar-winning documentary about Alex Honnold, a rock climber who climbs without the use of ropes. Here's what Brady said to Chin in that exchange.
"El Cap" is short for El Capitan, the massive rock in Yosemite National Park that Honnold scaled in the documentary.
Obviously, Brady could have been joking, but it's also possible that he would want to give rock climbing a shot. After all, he recently was watching tape of himself skiing ahead of a family ski trip, which brought back memories of a failed ski jump he had years ago that worried the Patriots fan base.
And, of course, who could forget when Brady went cliff diving? Watching the clip of that happening was a uniquely terrifying moment for Patriots fans, and they're relieved that it hasn't happened since.
If Brady does decide to do any extreme sport again (or really, any dangerous non-football activity), rest assured that the Patriots front office, coaching staff, and fan base alike will be holding their collective breath watching whatever highlights Brady posts of the endeavor.
