Tom Brady is still TB12: Chris Godwin cedes jersey number to Bucs QB

The TB12 brand is staying intact.

Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will keep No. 12 with the Buccaneers after signing with Tampa Bay in free agency, the team confirmed Tuesday.

That means Bucs star wide receiver Chris Godwin is deferring to Brady, switching to No. 14 after wearing No. 12 in his first three seasons.

Godwin said recently he'd "definitely" keep No. 12 if Brady didn't want the number, but the six-time Super Bowl champion apparently wants to keep the digits he wore for 20 years in New England.

We'd imagine Brady cut some sort of deal with Godwin to land No. 12 -- the wide receiver's Twitter account is @CGtwelve_, after all -- but it sounds like the two worked something out.

The result: Patriots fans will need to get used to the strange sight of Brady wearing No. 12 for a new team in 2020.

Twitter had jokes after Tom Brady ripped his pants during 'The Match'

Tom Brady's Sunday afternoon of golfing with Peyton Manning, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson was eventful, to say the least.

The ex-New England Patriots quarterback began "The Match" by struggling through the first six holes. Then, he finally got back on track with an amazing shot that briefly quieted the naysayers.

Unfortunately for Brady, the shot may have been overshadowed by him simultaneously splitting his pants. Just look at the photo below:

Whoops!

As you can imagine, Twitter had some fun with Brady's mishap:

It's OK, Tom. It happens to the best of us.

Tom Brady has a thing for comebacks.

The former New England Patriots quarterback was struggling mightily through the first few holes of "The Match" on Sunday. Then, he totally redeemed himself.

Just watch this shot below and enjoy:

"Shut your mouth, Chuck," Brady said to Charles Barkley, who had been chirping him throughout the match.

We should have known a comeback was around the corner. Didn't 28-3 teach us anything?

Just as Twitter had a field day with Brady's early struggles, it enjoyed watching Brady sink that improbable shot:

Bravo, Tom. Bravo.
