The Miami Dolphins came into Foxboro and shocked the New England Patriots on Sunday, beating the defending Super Bowl champions and preventing them from getting a first-round playoff bye.
With their loss and the Kansas City Chiefs' win over the Los Angeles Chargers, the Patriots will be forced to play Saturday in the Wild Card round for the first time in 10 years. That result prompted some pretty wild reactions on Twitter.
Here were a few notable social media reactions to the Patriots' costly defeat.
A HOT TAKE FROM SKIP
Ryan Fitzpatrick just drove the Dolphins 75 yards in 13 plays on Bill Belichick's defense, for the touchdown that basically wrecked the Patriots' Super Bowl chances. Just shameful. Of course, Belichick is allowing his son to call defenses, which makes it even worse.

BRUSCHI DISAPPOINTED WITH DEFENSE
All year the @Patriots defense and STs have had to make plays to win. Today it didn’t happen. This is exactly where they didn’t want to be. #WildcardWeekend

A STUNNING LOSS
I don't surprised that often with results of NFL games. Any Given Sunday of course... but the Dolphins beating the Pats in this situation is shocking. Absolutely stunning. And how they did it also. Just drove the length of the field for a game winning TD. Wild

TOUGH WAY TO END THE DECADE
The Patriots’ last regular season loss of the decade is one of their worst in a long time.

Now, the Patriots will just have to wait and see whether their Wild Card opponent will be the Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers, or the Oakland Raiders.
