Frank Gore is not ready to retire from the NFL.
The veteran (and potentially future Hall of Fame) running back is staying in the AFC East and will sign with the New York Jets, per his agent Drew Rosenhaus.
Gore played for the Buffalo Bills last season and split carries with rookie Devin Singletary. The 36-year-old tallied 599 yards and two touchdowns on 166 carries over 16 games. He played for the Miami Dolphins in 2018 and totaled 722 rushing yards with zero touchdowns.
The signing of Gore gives the Jets a competent backup to starting running back Le'Veon Bell, who signed a huge free agent contract with New York before the 2019 season.

New England Patriots
Gore remaining in the AFC East means the New England Patriots will face him twice in 2020, unless he misses a game due to injury or some other reason. He's tallied 457 rushing yards (5.31 yards per carry) and two receiving touchdowns in seven games versus the Patriots in his career. Gore has played quite well in his last two games against the Patriots, tallying 201 yards on just 29 carries.
The Patriots beat the Jets twice in 2019 and have won eight consecutive games versus New York.
