Want a Patriot at your high school football game? Let JoeJuan Williams know

With the Patriots enjoying a sort of mini-bye with no game on Sunday after playing Thursday night, it would probably be a good time for players to get away from the game a little bit before cranking it up next week to prepare for the Jets.

JoeJuan Williams has other plans.

Since settling in Foxboro, the Pats rookie cornerback from Vanderbilt has made a habit each week on Twitter of asking his followers which area high school football game he should attend. He even squeezed one in Friday night before his flight to Nashville, where he'll watch Vandy play UNLV on Saturday.

“It’s just cool watching all that stuff from youth to high school to going back to college and being in the league now," Williams told NESN's Zack Cox. So [that’s how] I try to spend most of my free time. If it’s not video games, I’m going to be watching some football.”

Williams, a second-round pick who so far has played mostly on special teams through the first five games, also stops by the Payson Road Recreation Area, about a mile from Gillette Stadium, on Mondays and Tuesdays when he can after practices and meetings to watch Foxboro Youth Football practices.
