Watch Josh Gordon make a vintage catch while dealing with a hand issue

In a game where the Patriots' wide receiver depth was being tested, Josh Gordon's toughness shined through on one particular play.

During the third quarter of the Patriots matchup with the Jets Sunday, Gordon fought through an apparent hand injury and made an incredible grab that set up a touchdown for New England.

Gordon's catch set up a Rex Burkhead touchdown run, which is a two-play sequence Patriots fans probably dream about on Saturday nights.

Gordon appeared to hurt his hand earlier in the game engaging in a block with Jets corner Trumaine Johnson. Here's a look at the play:

The Patriots were thin at wideout heading into Week 3 after cutting Antonio Brown, and then Julian Edelman was banged up with a chest injury in the first half against New York. They already had control of the game and were well on their way to a 3-0 start, but New England needed Gordon to hang tough and make plays down the stretch.

Gordon's return to the Patriots was relatively unexpected, and in his second season with the team he continues to progress toward coming into his own as a dynamic receiving threat on the outside. If he can start to play back to his 2013 form when he led the league in receiving yards, the Patriots will be even more dangerous than they already are.
