Watch Rob Gronkowski dent Patriots' Lombardi Trophy in hilarious video

Rob Gronkowski's parting shot with the New England Patriots left a rather large dent in the team's Lombardi Trophy from Super Bowl LIII.

Angelique Fiske of Patriots.com wrote an oral history of the story, which comes from the team's appearance at Fenway Park on April 9. The Pats attended the Red Sox home opener at Fenway Park to celebrate their sixth Super Bowl victory, but some shenanigans before the actual ceremony on the field left a mark in the iconic trophy.

Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman wanted to get his arm loose before throwing out the first pitch, so while the team was in a tent waiting to go on the Fenway Park field, he tossed a baseball in Gronkowski's direction and the recently retired tight end used the football portion of the Lombardi Trophy to make contact in a bunting motion.

Watch the hilarious scene in the video below:

Ouch!

Tom Brady had the perfect response to the video on Twitter:

As of now, the team doesn't plan on immediately fixing the dent. In the story version on the team's website, Patriots vice president of media relations Stacey James says "Maybe they’ll fix it down the road. That’s something they can always fix in the future, but at least for now, we’re going to keep the dent and tell the story."

And it's quite a story.

Julian Edelman laughs it up with Stephen Colbert in 'Late Show' appearance

Julian Edelman laughs it up with Stephen Colbert in 'Late Show' appearance

Julian Edelman visited the "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday night and the Super Bowl MVP brought his three Super Bowl rings with him.

As Colbert handled the jewelry, he noted the size and heft of the rings and joked, "Do you need to go to the gym or do you just curl with these?"

The Patriots wide receiver was promoting his Showtime documentary, "100%: Julian Edelman" and when asked which ring was his favorite, he borrowed a line from his quarterback, and answers, as Tom Brady usually does, "the next one."

There was no beer-chugging (although we've seen that Edelman knows his way around thator strawberry-eating as in Brady's "Late Show" appearance, but Edelman also discussed meeting Brady as a rookie in 2009, and borrowing another Brady phrase, talked about how multi-functional the words "Let's Go!' have become for him and his teammates.

A discussion of Edelman's Jewish faith ended with him accepting a special gift signifying that from Colbert, a "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" kippa, the traditional Jewish headwear.
