Watch Sony Michel score three touchdowns in Patriots-Chargers playoff game

The New England Patriots scored on their first two drives of Sunday's AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers thanks to a heavy dosage of running backs.

UPDATE (Sunday, Jan. 13 at 2:40 p.m. ET): Sony Michel hasn't slowed down one bit after his first two touchdowns. He powered his way across the goal line for a third touchdown late in the first half. Check out a replay in the tweet below.

Rookie running back Sony Michel scored his first career playoff touchdown from the 1-yard line to cap a 14-play, 83-yard opening drive for New England.

Michel also scored the Patriots' second touchdown of the first quarter on a 14-yard run. He dove for the end zone and crossed the plane to put New England up 14-7.

Michel tallied 43 rushing yards on nine carries over the first two Patriots drives. He had one reception for nine yards as well.

Veteran running back James White also played a huge factor in the two early scores with six receptions for 42 yards.

Seven of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's first 10 completions went to running backs.
