There will be plenty of speculation about Alex Cora returning to Boston until the Red Sox hire their next manager, but Cora's former team isn't the only attractive landing spot.
The Chicago White Sox managerial position opened up Monday as the organization parted ways with skipper Rick Renteria. General manager Rick Hahn spoke to reporters about the decision and what the team is looking for in a replacement.

"The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience in a championship organization in recent years," Hahn said, per USA TODAY's Bob Nightengale.
Cora, of course, led the Red Sox to a World Series title in 2018. So that box is checked off.
Hahn also said the White Sox's next manager will come from outside the organization, so Cora is 2-for-2.
Cora fits Hahn's description to a T, as does former Houston Astros manager A.J. Hinch. Both Cora and Hinch are expected to interview for managerial positions this offseason after serving year-long suspensions for their involvement in the Astros' sign-stealing scandal.
If the Red Sox job isn't offered to Cora, or the 44-year-old simply wishes to pursue a new opportunity, the White Sox could be a perfect fit. Chicago is stacked with exciting, young talent and is poised to be a perennial American League Central contender.
