It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.

Fortunately, Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts avoided serious injury during a collision with teammate Alex Verdugo in Friday night's game against the Seattle Mariners, meaning it's back to fun and games.

Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers and manager Alex Cora each had fun at the expense of Bogaerts in the aftermath of the play, noting his similarity to a soccer player taking a dive as he fell to the grass in left field at Fenway Park.

"We're just lucky nothing serious happened," Cora said. "Now we can joke about it. Raffy was actually talking about Bogey, early on today, that he could play in the Premier League or La Liga with that reaction. Now we can laugh."

Bogaerts was right back in the lineup for Boston on Saturday, batting cleanup. The 29-year-old pending free agent is having an outstanding season at the plate, entering Saturday's action at Fenway Park batting .326 with four home runs and 16 RBIs with an OPS of .853.
