Cora reacts to contract extension with thankful message

Alex Cora has plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

The Boston Red Sox manager is set up to be the team's skipper through the 2024 MLB season after the club exercised its option to extend his contract on Monday. Cora took to Instagram to react to the news with a post that shows he's excited about his future in Boston.

“Hoping we can have more moments like this. Thank you @redsox,” he wrote.

Cora's photo is from the Red Sox' 2021 American League Wild Card Game victory over the New York Yankees. Boston went on to defeat the first-place Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS before falling to the Houston Astros in the ALCS. While Cora and the Red Sox came up short of their ultimate goal of their second World Series title in four years, they certainly exceeded their preseason expectations.

With a roster ready to make another run in 2022, plus a revitalized farm system with promising young talent, more of those unforgettable moments should be in Cora's future.
