Alex Cora reveals the moment Chris Sale returned to form

Chris Sale has quieted all doubters over the last month.

The Red Sox ace has tallied double-digit strikeouts in five of his last six starts, including a 17-K outing vs. the Rockies. Since April 23, he's lowered his ERA from 7.43 to 4.31.

That April 23 start against the Tigers is when Alex Cora realized Sale was back to being his dominant self. The Sox manager explained why during an interview with MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM.

"There was an outing there against Detroit that he gave up I think it was four in the first two innings," Cora said. "And he pitched well, you know, the last two or three innings. He was in the sixth inning he comes out and he's like 'give me one more. I got to prove something to a lot of people here.'"

It's clear Sale is out to prove the naysayers wrong, and lately he's done just that.
