Betts leaves Red Sox game after injuring his foot

On the day the Red Sox got Hanley Ramirez back in the lineup, they lost Mookie Betts to a foot injury after a collision at home plate.

Betts was injured in the first inning on Saturday when he collided with Baltimore Orioles catcher Chance Sisco when Betts slid home and scored on Andrew Benintendi's double. Betts' left leg appeared to jam into Sisco's shin guard. He limped off the field but remained in the game until the fourth inning when Jackie Bradley Jr. moved from center to right field, Benintendi from left to center and Blake Swihart went into play left.

The Red Sox said Betts has a left foot contusion, X-rays were negative and he's day to day.

Ramirez, meanwhile, who missed the game Friday after he was hit on the wrist by a pitch on Thursday night against the Yankees, returned to the lineup Saturday and hit a two-run homer in his first at-bat.
