Brock Holt's Brewers career lasted three hits and 30 at-bats. He was designated for assignment on Saturday and returned home to find his young son, Griffin, awaiting him.
"That didn't take long," Griffin said in an Instagram video before bursting into laughter
The 32-year-old Holt was a fan favorite in Boston, where he devoted considerable energy to the Jimmy Fund while also delivering on the field in a super utility role. His Red Sox highlights included an All-Star berth in 2015, and the first cycle in playoff history vs. the Yankees in 2018.
Given Holt's lackluster production, as well as the emergence of Rule 5 pick Jonathan Arauz, a reunion with the Brock Star appears unlikely.
Red Sox fans will instead have to settle for his son gleefully giving his dad grief.
