Chris Sale showed his appreciation for the Boston Red Sox' minor league affiliates on Thursday.

The Red Sox southpaw had 50 Bose QC-45 headphones delivered to the Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester clubhouses, according to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe. Sale gifted the headphones to 50 players and staff as a way to show his gratitude for the time he spent with both teams during his rehab assignment.

Sale, recovering from a stress fracture in his right rib cage, made one rehab start this season for both the Sea Dogs and WooSox. The 33-year-old made headlines after his Worcester start when he threw a tantrum and smashed a TV in the tunnel. He made amends for his outburst by spending $6,000 on lunch and dinner for the Worcester Red Sox players, coaches and staff, and he vowed to cover the damages for the TV.

Sale suffered yet another setback shortly after making his long-awaited return to Boston's rotation. In his second start, he fractured his left pinky finger after being struck by a comebacker. There currently is no timetable for his return to the Red Sox staff.
