Christian Vazquez's sensational play seals Red Sox win over Rays

The Red Sox didn't make it easy on themselves on Saturday night, but they were able to edge out the Rays in a close one.

Ryan Brasier took the mound with a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning and Tampa Bay managed to get runners on first and second. Willy Adames had a golden opportunity to tie the game at 6 or walk it off for the Rays, but catcher Christian Vazquez had other ideas.

Vazquez caught the runner on first, Tommy Pham, napping and picked him off to seal the Red Sox victory.

How's that for a heads-up play?

With the win, Boston improves to 8-13 and earns its first series win of the season. They'll aim to complete the sweep Sunday afternoon.
