The baseball free agent market has been at a virtual standstill for weeks. Right, J.D. Martinez? But the Chicago Cubs broke the virtual ice Saturday with the addition of right-hander Yu Darvish, who reportedly agreed to a six-year, $126 million contract that makes Wrigley Field his new home.
It's been two years since Rusney Castillo last played in the majors and he could be ready to make his return.
Second baseman Ian Kinsler and third baseman Rafael Devers have traded places Friday, with Kinsler coming off the 10-day DL after a hamstring injury and Devers returning to the 10-day DL for the third time this season.
Kinsler, 36, was 4-for-10 with two stolen bases, two RBI and three runs scored in three games after being acquired from the Angels at the July trade deadline. He's back in the lineup Friday night in the opener of the three-game series against the Rays, batting sixth.

Devers went on the DL in late July with a hamstring strain and missed time earlier with a shoulder injury. The 21-year-old third baseman is hitting .242 with 16 homers and 55 RBI but has slumped in August, hitting .182 (4-for-22) in six games since returning from the DL Aug. 8.
Look for Eduardo Nunez, who is starting there Friday, and Brock Holt to get time at third in Devers absence.
