The nine suspects allegedly involved in last Sunday night's shooting of Red Sox legend David Ortiz have been indicted.

According to The Boston Globe, the suspects are being sent to four different prisons “in order to protect the integrity of the investigation" and could be held for up to a year. They are charged with attempted murder, criminal association and illegal possession of weapons.

Jhoel Lopez, a Dominican variety show producer, also was injured in the shooting. Lopez's lawyer, Jose Martinez, said a 10th suspect turned himself in on Friday, per The Globe.

Ortiz continues to recover from his injuries in the intensive care unit at Mass General Hospital in Boston. His wife, Tiffany, has shared encouraging updates on the beloved former slugger along with his daughter, Alex.
