Miguel Cabrera hits historic 500th career home run

Miguel Cabrera made history on Sunday, becoming the 28th player ever to hit 500 career MLB home runs.

The historic blast came on the road in Toronto, as the Tigers' legend belted the homer off Blue Jays pitcher Steven Matz to deep right center field.

Cabrera, 38, continues to add to his legacy, which includes two MVPs, 11 All-Star appearances, a World Series ring in 2003 with the Marlins and now 500 home runs.

Cabrera's home run pace slowed in recent years, but his name will now be etched in the history books with 18 Hall of Famers who reached 500. It's only a matter of time before Miggy joins them in Cooperstown.
