Eduardo Rodriguez looks to be picking up right where he left off last season.

The Boston Red Sox southpaw took the mound for his first start of the spring on Saturday vs. the New York Yankees, and he was lights out. Rodriguez struck out six while only allowing two hits in three shutout innings.

E-Rod will be even more important to the Red Sox's success in 2020. The pitching staff has its fair share of question marks following the departure of David Price, as both Chris Sale and Nathan Eovaldi have durability concerns and the back end of the rotation currently lacks a dependable arm.

If Rodriguez can build off his 2019 campaign, he could be an X factor for Boston. The 26-year-old enjoyed a career season, going 19-6 with a 3.81 ERA and 213 strikeouts in 203 1/3 innings pitched.

Despite Rodriguez's strong outing, the Red Sox fell to the Yankees, 5-2.
