Jackie Bradley Jr. has found a new home ahead of the 2023 MLB season.
The former Boston Red Sox center fielder signed with the Kansas City Royals on a minor-league contract, the team announced Wednesday. The deal includes an invitation to big-league spring training.

Bradley spent the first eight seasons of his MLB career in Boston, earning an All-Star nod in 2016 and helping the club to a World Series title in 2018. One of the best defensive center fielders in franchise history, he was named the ALCS MVP during the '18 team's championship run.
The 32-year-old returned to Boston for 2022 after a year with the Milwaukee Brewers and played 91 games before being released. He played the rest of the season with the Toronto Blue Jays and finished with a .203/.255/.311 slash line.
Bradley doesn't offer much value at the plate, but he should provide the Royals with outfield depth after Drew Waters and Diego Hernandez went down with injuries. Kansas City also traded outfielder Michael A. Taylor to the Minnesota Twins earlier in the offseason.
