Hector Velazquez's Boston Red Sox tenure is over, but he'll likely still see plenty of his former team this season.

The right-hander was claimed off waivers Sunday by the Baltimore Orioles.

Velazquez spent all three of his MLB seasons with Boston, posting an 11-7 record and 3.90 ERA as a spot-starter and reliever. The 31-year-old scuffled in 2019 as he went 1-4 with a 5.43 ERA in 34 appearances.

Velazquez, who was designated for assignment to make room for newly-acquired pitcher Collin McHugh, isn't the first Sox pitcher to be claimed by the Orioles this offseason. Travis Lakins was signed by Baltimore after being DFA'd in January.
