Opening Day: It's summer again up in Boston

OK, so the Red Sox's season-opening 11-game road trip didn't go as planned: a 3-8 record and a nightmarish 8.57 ERA from the starting rotation, which has yet to record a win.

Luckily for the Sox, the road trip is now over and Alex Cora's club gets to enjoy some much-needed home cooking in a six-game homestand.

Hope springs eternal on Opening Day, and even though Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays is only Boston's home opener, Boston will take any kind of optimism at this point.

It will be a championship celebration, with a new World Series banner and rings commemorating what the team was able to accomplish last season. And there are sure to be memorable moments you can add to the list of notable home openers over the franchise's storied history.
