How Sox prospects Downs, Bello fared in Futures Game

Red Sox

Jeter Downs and Brayan Bello represented the Boston Red Sox in Sunday's MLB Futures Game at Coors Field.

Downs, the organization's No. 3 ranked prospect per, had two at-bats in the exhibition. The 22-year-old middle infielder fouled off some tough pitches against Washington Nationals prospect Cade Cavalli before striking out on a filthy changeup in the fifth inning.

Downs' second AB came in the seventh, when he made up for his strikeout with a two-run double.
