Life keeps getting better for new father Mookie Betts

Life is pretty good right about now for Mookie Betts.

Nine days ago, he became a World Series champion. Nine days from now, he'll likely be named the American League MVP. But on Tuesday, he got an even bigger prize: the arrival of his daughter.

Betts wrote on Instagram: "Never knew what unconditional love meant or how it felt until I met this little princess. Nov 6th 2018 is a day I’ll never forget"

Betts and his girlfriend Brianna Hammonds had announced that they were expecting a child at the start of August, and their daughter was born Tuesday.

During the season, Betts talked to NBC Sports Boston's Evan Drellich about his impending fatherhood by saying, "I want to be just like my dad. Watching him, talking with him, hopefully I can just kind of pick up how he was and how he raised me and my brother and my sister. And I think if I can do something close to the way he did, I should have a good kid."

It's the first child for Betts and Hammonds.
