The Boston Red Sox boast perhaps the most improved farm system in all of baseball, and it shows on Baseball America's latest top 100 prospects list.

Four Sox minor leaguers made the top 100 heading into the 2022 season. Shortstop Marcelo Mayer leads the quartet at No. 15 on the list months after being drafted fourth overall by Boston. Also inside the top 20 is slugging first baseman Triston Casas, who comes in at No. 19. Second baseman Nick Yorke ranks 31st and outfielder Jarren Duran squeaks in at 91st.

Mayer moves up to 19th to 19th after a successful first pro season in the Florida Complex League. The 19-year-old slashed .275/.377/.440 with three homers and 17 RBI in 26 games.

Casas remains inside the top 20 after a strong 2021 campaign spent with Double-A Portland, Triple-A Worcester and Team USA at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In 86 total games between Double-A and Triple-A, Casas belted 14 homers with a .877 OPS. The 22-year-old is expected to make his major league debut at some point during the 2022 season.

Yorke climbs from 63rd to 31st after earning Red Sox Minor League Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2021. The 2020 first-round draft pick belted 14 homers and posted .928 OPS in 97 games between Low-A Salem and High-A Greenville.

Duran falls from 37th to 91st after struggling in his first stint with the MLB club. After hitting 16 homers in 60 games at Triple-A, Duran hit just .215 with two homers in 33 games with Boston.
