Members of Red Sox 2004 World Series team commemorate 15th anniversary

For Red Sox fans, it's one of those moments where they'll always remember where they were.

Heck, it's one of those moments that most Sox fans thought they would never see.

But when Keith Foulke snared an Edgar Renteria comebacker and underhanded it to Doug Mientkiewicz for the final out of Game 4 of the World Series on October 27, 2004, it ended an 86-year run of futility that inspired the phrase "The Curse of the Bambino."

Two members of that championship team — Keith Foulke and Kevin Youkilis — commemorated the 15th anniversary of that World Series title on social media Sunday.

Even though Boston has gone on to win three more World Series titles since then, the '04 title is still the most unforgettable. From an unprecedented comeback in the ALCS that included Dave Roberts' steal, David Ortiz's back-to-back extra inning heroics, and Curt Schilling's bloody sock game, the 2004 Red Sox were able to erase the pain of their 2003 playoff failures and deliver a long-awaited championship to Boston.
