Springer is set to be one of the most coveted players on the market this offseason. The three-time All-Star center fielder once again was one of the Astros' top hitters in 2020, posting a .899 OPS and putting up his usual big numbers in the playoffs. Expect the Red Sox to be in the running for Springer if they opt to move on from Jackie Bradley, Jr.

Age: 30

Another potential Red Sox target, Ozuna was one of the best hitters in baseball in 2020. "The Big Bear" hit .338 with a whopping 18 homers and 56 RBI during the shortened season. In fact, three of those homers came against Boston at Fenway Park. Foreshadowing, perhaps?

Age: 33

Brantley has a lengthy injury history, so that along with his age may raise some red flags. But when healthy, the four-time All-Star is one of the most consistent hitters in the game. In 2020, Brantley hit .300 with five homers in 46 games.

Castellanos wasn't as productive at the plate in 2020 following his monster 2019 season, but make no mistake, he'll be one of the best hitters on the market if he declines his player option. That would be a surprise, however, as the option is worth $14 million and the Reds should be playoff contenders in 2021.

UPDATE (Oct. 31): Castellanos has exercised his player option and will remain with the Reds for 2021.

Age: 35

Cespedes opted out of the 2020 season after eight games with the Mets, didn't play in 2019, and he only played in 38 games in 2018. In other words, there's a ton of uncertainty surrounding the slugger entering 2021.

What we do know about Cespedes is he's one of the best hitters in the game when healthy. But when you've played in only 127 games in the last three years and are entering your age 35 season, that's a concern.

It remains to be seen whether the Red Sox will look to retain their Gold Glove center fielder. There certainly will be a number of teams vying for JBJ's services since he's one of the best defensive players in baseball. Sure, Bradley's incredibly streaky at the plate, but wherever he lands will be treated to web gem after web gem in 2021.

Age: 28

Remember when the Dodgers traded Pederson to the Angels, then the deal fell through amidst the Mookie Betts-to-L.A. chaos? That was something.

Pederson struggled in 2020, hitting just .190 with seven homers. But in 2019, he enjoyed his best year as a pro with 36 home runs and a .876 OPS. He mashes right-handers but struggles mightily against lefties.

Teams are always looking for a big bat to add to their lineup, so Pederson should be a hot commodity on the market even as a platoon player.

Pillar quickly became a bright spot for Boston in 2020 as he showed off his usual stellar defense and was a surprisingly consistent contributor at the plate. The veteran hit .274 with four homers in 30 games, then hit .308 with two homers after being dealt to Colorado.

Age: 29

Puig signed with the Braves prior to the 2020 season, then the deal was voided after he tested positive for COVID-19. It was a surprise to see Puig still on the free-agent market last spring, considering he hit 24 homers between Cincinnati and Cleveland in 2019. Plenty of teams could use Puig's bat in their lineup, so he should have no problem finding a new squad for 2021.

Age: 32

The Nationals declined Eaton's $9 million option after a rough season in which he hit just .226 in 41 games. Though Eaton's numbers were down across the board, he's still an intriguing bounce-back candidate for 2021.

The 2019 World Series champion can be placed anywhere in the outfield and historically posts an on-base percentage right around .800. If teams look past the down 2020 season -- and they should -- Eaton should have plenty of suitors.

UPDATE (Dec. 8): Eaton has agreed to a one-year, $7 million contract with the Chicago White Sox.
