Top 5 MLB free-agent catchers for 2020-21

There are a few intriguing free-agent options this offseason for MLB teams in need of a trustworthy backstop.

While the best catchers on the free-agent market often lag far behind starting pitchers and power hitting outfielders, it's a different story entering the 2020 offseason, as one of the premier free agents is catcher J.T. Realmuto.

After two successful seasons in Philadelphia, the 29-year-old Realmuto is reportedly seeking a contract in excess of $23 million per year, which would break Joe Mauer's record for the highest average annual salary paid to a catcher.

And though Realmuto is the headliner of the class, there are still other options for teams in need of a catcher this offseason.
