Home runs make headlines, but players can be game-changers with their gloves, too.
That's especially true at the shortstop position, where defense is highly valued. Several of Major League Baseball's shortstops hitting free agency are defensive wizards, from four-time Gold Glove Award winner Andrelton Simmons to former Red Sox glove expert Jose Iglesias.
But teams also need their shortstops to put up offensive numbers -- which explains why the Red Sox locked in Xander Bogaerts to a six-year, $120 million contract in 2019 -- and the top two names of this year's class have plenty of pop.
